🐾 Looking for a Loving Home for Max — 3-Year-Old Purebred Yorkie ❤️ This is Max, our sweet 3-year-old male purebred Yorkie. He’s about 12 lbs, neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and comes with all of his papers. Rehoming Max is something I really don’t want to have to do. Unfortunately, I’m moving into a home that doesn’t allow dogs, so I’m trying to find someone who will love and take care of him the way he deserves. There’s no rush to get rid of him — I want him to find a loving home. ❤️ Max is playful, cuddly, energetic, protective, and extremely loving. He loves people, kids, and other dogs. He can play-nibble with kids, and when playing with other dogs he sometimes makes a growling sound, but it’s his playful growl. He absolutely LOVES attention and being close to his person. His favorite place to sleep is in the bed with you, so I’d really love for him to go to someone who wants a little cuddle buddy. 🥹❤️ He does well when left home alone, although if he knows you’re home and he can’t get to you, he can get a little anxious because he wants to be around you. Max is potty-trained, although like most dogs, he can occasionally have an accident if he’s left alone for too long. He loves going on walks, but he still needs some work with leash training. He’s EXTREMELY food motivated, which makes working on training with treats much easier. 😂 He already knows several commands, including: • Sit • Go to your bed • Eat • Dance 🕺🐶 He also has some hilarious little personality traits. When Max gets really excited, he’ll show his teeth like he’s smiling — it’s not aggression, it’s genuinely his excited little smile. 😂 He loves rolling around on carpet, LOVES playing with boxes 📦, and gets pretty vocal/barky when he’s excited. When he’s relaxed, he generally isn’t a big barker. One important thing about Max: he had a difficult life before coming to us and experienced abuse involving a crate. Because of that, he does not like crates and should not be crated. He can also be uncomfortable with grooming, but I can recommend a good groomer who has experience working with him. His past also means he needs someone who understands his boundaries. When Max gets frightened, he may hide. If this happens, he needs to be given space and allowed to come out when he feels safe. Trying to grab him while he’s scared can cause him to defensively try to bite. He has done this with me before when I tried to grab him while he was frightened, but the bite did not break the skin or require medical attention. Outside of situations where he feels scared and cornered, he is an incredibly loving and affectionate little dog.
