His lineage is deeply rooted in history, carrying rare and extraordinary genetic markers. On his maternal side, Wolfie belongs to the C1 haplogroup, specifically the C27/37 haplotype. This maternal lineage is exceptionally rare, with connections to ancestral wolves, foxes, and jackals rather than common domestic dog lineages. While not widely found in most breeds, C1 appears in German Shepherds, Doberman Pinschers, and even ancient breeds such as the Peruvian Inca Orchid and Pekingese. Wolfie’s paternal lineage is equally intriguing. His haplotype, Hc.1, is the sole representative of the A haplogroup, a rare and distinctive paternal line.
