Is there an adoption fee?

Petmeetly is free to join and browse pets available for adoption. Messaging another owner may require an optional Premium membership if the other owner is not already a Premium member. Separately, individual owners may set a small rehoming fee on their listing to cover vaccinations, spay/neuter, or microchipping; any such fee is clearly displayed and paid directly to the current owner, not to Petmeetly.

How are adopters verified?

All Petmeetly members verify their contact details before they can message other owners, which removes most spam and bad-faith accounts. Beyond that, the current owner controls their own vetting - you can expect to answer questions about your home, living situation, and previous pet experience before the owner agrees to a meeting.

What if the adoption doesn't work out?

We strongly recommend a trial period (typically 1-2 weeks) agreed in advance between you and the current owner. If the pet is not settling well, you can re-list the pet on Petmeetly to find a better home. Because Petmeetly is a connection platform, the specific terms of any return are between you and the previous owner - we suggest putting these in writing before the adoption.
