Why rehoming the pet
Can my dogo people share and help my sweet foster boy find his home for the holidays 💕 Maverick is a 1.5-year-old neutered purebred Dogo Argentino located in Pittsfield, MA in search of his forever home. Raised in a loving family with kids and another dog. Maverick has a solid foundation of obedience training, making him well-mannered and eager to please. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, and is looking for a new home where he can thrive. At first, Maverick can be a bit shy with new people, but once he warms up, he will be the biggest baby, full of love and affection. He’s fiercely loyal to his family and will form a strong bond with those he trusts. However, due to an incident that lead to a fight with the other male dog in his home, Maverick now needs a placement without other dogs, or possibly with a large-breed female dog. He has done well with females dogs in his foster home, but this is in a structured environment with a professional, but should never live with another male dog again. Outside of his home he is cordial and respectful of other dogs, and can co-exist without incident! His ideal family will have experience with large dog breeds, especially Dogo Argentinos, to continue his training and provide the strong leadership he needs. Dogo’s are an amazing breed but they are not for everyone. Maverick may be able to live with a confident feline but proper introductions and supervision would be key. Maverick does have seasonal and food allergies, which are common for the breed. But don’t worry— we have done allergy testing and identified his triggers. With the right diet and care, we’ve had great success in managing his allergies, and he’s doing wonderfully. Mavericks Ideal home is with an active couple or family with kids 8+ who will spend time continuing his training, spending time outdoors hiking, walking, and playing, with him. And most importantly sharing their couch and bed as his favorite thing in this world is cuddling with his humans. A fence is not needed but land or a fence would be a great bonus for him. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion who will be endlessly devoted to his family, Maverick is your guy! He’s ready to bring joy, cuddles, and protection to his perfect forever home. Interested in meeting Maverick? Reach out with any questions and we can discuss the next steps!
