Why rehoming the pet

We have another dog who is very old , and they have began to have some issues and creating a stressful environment for him . They love to play together but I think because my one dog is old and Harlow is young there is a power struggle . My older dog is losing to much weight and is stressed. we've tried many different things to help him cope with a new puppy but he just deserves to live the rest of his life in peace.
