About Gaia

Gaia is a sweet dog, happy and goofy! She loves to run, play outside, and needs lots of exercise. She is an outside dog through and through, but we had to move into an apartment and things are not working out in her favor. She needs to be outside, she loves to roll in the dirt and if there's mud - she is even happier! If you have a country home where she can roam at her leisure but still come in and love her family, she'd be in heaven. We have her in a crate during the day when we are out and she can't handle it. I don't blame her, we had to move due to circumstances out of our control. We have tried for 4 months to accommodate her and our new place, but she truly needs the outside element we can't provide for her. She is good on a leash and enjoys long walks but will not use the restroom if attached to a leash. She misses the freedom of her own yard. Dog parks are not the same. She's a great companion and enjoys being in the presence of her people but when she is left alone, she will be a chewer and I believe this to be a nervous habit, she didn't start this until moved into an apartment. We keep her with her favorite lamb chop toy and she chews it up and takes it from room to room with her. She is wonderful with our other dog (also needing a new home with a yard), cats and ducks are iffy - the ones we have met have been unfriendly and scared her. She can follow commands such as sit, no, out... she still needs a lot of direction and attention but she is so smart and eager to please.
